Eddleston Church

Hello, and a very warm welcome to Eddleston Kirk’s website. We’re delighted that you have visited us here and we hope that you find everything you need to know about our church, it’s role in the community, its history, its stewardship programme, upcoming events and reviews.

Linked with The Old Parish Church of Peebles, picturesque Eddleston Parish Church is set in the heart of Eddleston near the top of a hill and overlooks much of the village. Its bell, The Eddleston Bell, which was cast in the Netherlands and is over 500 years old, has quite a history that you can read about in the history section. The bell is rung every Sunday, five minutes before the service starts, to call people to worship and it can be heard throughout the village.

We are a small but happy and enthusiastic congregation that engages meaningfully with community outreach. We have services every Sunday at 11.45am except for the last Sunday of the month when the service begins at 6.00pm. Often we have tea, coffee and biscuits after the services and visitors are warmly welcome to join us for cuppa and a chat. We also have a visitor’s book at the front of the church and love it when visitors take the time to leave a comment.

Our services are led by the Rev Calum Macdougall and music is provided by our Director of Music, Lorraine Mulholland, who plays The Ingram Organ which dates back to 1907. Everyone is welcome to join in our services and community events and we hope you will find a warm greeting at the door when you visit us.
